We were doing ok then all of a sudden the waves got worse and the people at the back of the boat started getting a salt water bath, so we turned around and back to San Pedro. We all agreed to take a mulligan and that we would have an even bet ...

Exploring Caves Branch River in the early 80s

Today's tacogirl blog guest post comes from Lucy Wallingford,  she has a unique story to tell as she has been involved with Belize since the 80's and seen a lot of changes over the years.  You will be hearing more from Lucy in future guest posts. We first thought about running the Caves Branch River in the mid 1980’s. This was the only underground river run we had ever heard of. We had some basic informatio ...

I didn’t expect to fall in love with Belize

I didn’t expect to fall in love with Belize By Rhiannon Fionn-Bowman - The World Trade Before I scheduled a Western Caribbean cruise in 2003, I had never even heard of Belize. That’s a stunning admission today since I can’t get the country off my mind. I was only there for a day, but in the years since I’ve become a Belize-information junkie. I hope to return for a week this year and, maybe – if the puzzle ...

San Pedro Sailing Club

I feel like a hamster on a wheel the past couple of days - so much going on.  Yesterday morning I was lucky and caught a ride to do some errands with Dick. He had to go to Osmins shop for a boat tool and  I was able to cross a few things off list that I needed to do before we leave for Florida including taking some jeans in to be hemmed at Elsa's shop across from Tropic Air and snapping a few pics of Carole ...

It all started at our nuevo team meeting yesterday afternoon. Paul suggested we have it in the garden because it was one of those perfect hot sunny San Pedro days.  We were 3/4 when  when Cindy came home for lunch - not long after she came out and handed Paul a note. We all laughed when he passed it around for us to read - ' I know you are in a meeting but it's the most perfect day to  skydive' [smiley face ...

Living Belize

I did not run off and join the circus or anything crazy. Our internet was down since early yesterday morning - which is how I ended up with the sunrise pictures below. We both woke up at 4:30 Sunday morning and found ourselves without internet so I suggested to tacoboy that we make an iced coffee to go and head to the beach at Banyan Bay Resort to watch the sunrise. I love that this is the view we  get with ...
