san pedro to chetumal water taxi

Belize Mexico News

Been busy cleaning house in preparation for Hurricane Rina. Some people have been evacuating the island but it is not mandatory. It does not look like we are going to get much more than rain as the cone is moving north west. Hoping our friends in Mexico stay safe and dry.

Maureen left for Mexico yesterday on the San Pedro Water Jets boat to Chetumal. In addition to all her stuff, she had her 3 dogs with her. Luckily Pina was able to take the trip and help her move. If you are traveling to Mexico from Belize by water taxi make sure to arrive 1/2 hour ahead of boat departure time, if you don’t you run the risk of not getting on the boat.

Wow, that’s a big sponsor. I can only imagine the event will be bigger than ever.. the food looked great in your past “Calling all Foodies” post.

  2. Rod and Molly Brown says:

The Browns here, (Molly and Rod) from New Mexico, hoping everyone in San Pedro are Safe. We haver been watching the hurricane and praying that the Beautiful Island People will be safe and the Beautiful people of the Yucantan. Can’t wait to return in March….Love you all…Rod and Molly Brown

  3. Remo says:

One would be safer going inland Belize rather than Chetumal (closer to the storm). Chetumal would be the last place I would go to right now.

That said, looks like a Cat 3 will hit Cozumel and PDC almost head on!!

My prayers go out to all my friends on the Playa forums. May they and others all stay safe. I am urging some to leave PDC and go to Merida.

Hope you and Paul stay safe as well.

Anyway, back to reading weather reports………
