After a delicious Saturday breakfast at 100% Natural, I went on a mission to the Hotel Plaza. My errand was to pick up an iPhone that Steve from Lola’s Pub forgot last time he was in Playa 3 weeks ago. When I got there the front desk had it ready and waiting. Aside from being around the corner from Dirty Martini, which is one of the reasons Pedro and Steve like to stay there, they have great customer service.
Next stop was Starbucks for my favorite beverage a coffee frappucino, it was nice to sit outside and watch the world go by on 5th Ave. For those of you who have not been to Playa, 5th Ave is a very long pedestrian only street lined with great restaurants and shops. It is great for people watching.
Full of caffeine and ready to shop, I headed to Mega and Walmart, we do not have anything close to super size stores. I did not experience mall head to badly this time around, sometimes all the choice is overwhelming 🙂 I bought some John Freida shampoo which we cannot get in Belize.
For dinner, I met up with Carolyn and Surendra again. We stopped Dirty Martini first to pick up their Taste of Playa Passes and enjoy a martini which is a rare thing for me – that was my second one in 46 years. As soon as I saw the espresso martini on the menu I knew it was time to try something other than my standard rum and cran or bottled water and I was really glad I did. Surendra had a ginger martini and Carolyn went with the traditional ‘Dirty Martini’. While there ran into Michele which was perfect to catch up a bit and I knew she would have a great sushi recommend for us – Nikkori Japanese Cuisine. The service was excellent and everything we ordered was delicious so much that we ended up ordering a round two of rolls.
After dinner, the Kumars dropped me off at my hotel, not quite ready to settle in for the night, I decided to take a walk down 5th ave. It is it looks really pretty all lit up and you will often see Mariachi bands or guys dressed in full Maya costume on the street.
Great shots. I have to visit Dirty Martini the next time I’m there. Do you think you could live in PDC?
Yum! The food looks amazing — I’m envious. And I love your martini. Looks like a good time was had by all!
