San Pedro Lobster Festival lovers coming since 2009

by tacogirl 04/06/2013
written by tacogirl 04/06/2013
san pedro lobsterfest

The Jansen & Racut family are returning on the 13tb of June to San Pedro, Belize. They have been coming every June to attend Lobster Fest since 2009. Wishing the Belize fishermen a great lobster season. Ready for a good time at the Lobster Fest events all week and to finish the week with a bang at the Lobster Fest Block Party 2013! Jennifer Jansen

I am not surprised the Jansen & Racut families are returning for their 5th year of San Pedro lobsterfest fun. As I was downloading the lobsterfest pictures of the annual block party that Jennifer sent, I was taken back in time. It made me all the more excited for Lobsterfest 2013, so many choices of delicious food and drinks, the cute dresses, great live music, the time we had the biggest downpour and hanging out with friends. What could be a better recipe for a great party. Make sure you toss a couple of ziplocks in your purse or pocket if you have any  electronic gear, it always rains to some degree at the big block party. Thankfully decoration meltdown was the worst weather related mishap to date.

Here is the official San Pedro Lobster Festival 2013 event schedule.

The Lobster crawl was a big hit last year and the 2013 passports, will be available in advance for this years Lobster Crawl. Watch San Pedro Lobster Festival Facebook page for the announcement. Lobsterfesters can get their passport stamped at every party, more stamps = more chances to win vacation for two to the San Pedro Lobster Festival 2014.  The lucky person will be announced the night of the big block party.

* Here is a great way to get a stamp. Visits Hol Chan Marine Reserve can get your crawl passport stamped when you give the park ranger your park ticket.

Lobster Festival tip – Start taking your vitamins now it will be a busy week of partying and don’t forget to leave a big glass of water and a couple of Tylenol on your night stand just in case 🙂

The annual  kickoff event is always held at at El Divino Restaurant at Banana Beach Resort and this year it falls on  on the night of Saturday, June 15. It is  always a great party, featuring the opening ceremonies, live music with Tanya and Zac and a whole lot of fun. This years menu loos yummy, Lobster Sushi Roll, Tropical Lobster and Key Lime Pie price $50 bzd. Join the Party Like a Lobstar 2013 Facebook invite sent out by  Banana Beach Facebookpage.

Sunday, June 16 12:00pm – 6:00pm – Join the Lobstermania pool party 2013 Facebook invite and come and rock out at Cowboy’s Pool Bar & Grill. Most rockin pool party on the island second year in a row.  Tasty lobster dishes and ice cold rock lobsters, also being served, $5 BZD local rum, $4 BZD 10 oz beer, $7 BZD 16 oz beer. Live Rock and Roll music with toucan jam For those of you who cannot make it to Belize for San Pedro Lobsterfest 2013 you will be able to watch Lobstermainia live on taco cam.

Sunday June 16 –  Crawl on down the road to Kama Lounge for a Lobster Fest Retro Party with Limbo Dance Off @ 7:00 p.m

Love Taco Girl Blog @LaurieNorton! I've been reading this blog since I started visiting Ambergris Caye in Belize almost... 10 years ago. It is filled with helpful up-to-date information and recommendations that I wouldn't necessarily find on my own. Laurie Norton's knowledge and extensive network on the island provides her with the ability to share perks/discounts/coupons with her readers, which come in handy year after year. Things on the island change daily - new businesses pop up constantly and LaurieNortonstays on top of these developments. Whenever I plan my return trip to the island, I always check her blog first - and I recommend you do the same. Trip Advisor ain't got nuttin' on Taco Girl!read more

Laurie's blog is my official “go to” source for tourist and local information on San Pedro. Of course, it’s always nice... to see her guides on “what to do” in San Pedro, but I also appreciate her “insider” advice and human interest stories on what it’s like living as a local on the island. There is so much information it's amazing! Thank you Laurie!!!read more

I’m so pleased to see tacogirl's blog on Google. Laurie's blog is my official “go to” source for tourist and local... information on San Pedro. Of course, it’s always nice to see her guides on “what to do” in San Pedro, but I also appreciate her “insider” advice and human interest stories on what it’s like living as a local on the island. I especially enjoy her guest articles, providing a different perspective of all things San Pedro. Her tipping quide is a classic, and don’t forget her Tropic Air flight code and on-island discounts. You’re not up-to-date with what’s going on in San Pedro if you’re not regularly reading tacogirl's blog.read more

Do yourself a favor. Read this BEFORE any trip to San Pedro - Ambergris Caye or Belize in general. Not saying “do what... everyone else says”, but Laurie has frank and honest info which will make your stay in country a little more fun, a little more informative, and often at a great cost savings. Best thing: it’s unbiased, honest, and factual. Personal note: thank you for your personal tailored help in answering mine (and my wife’s) questions.read more
