San Pedro Holiday Boat Parade

Lighted Boat Parade

What a great night, the boat parade was bigger and better than ever this year. We started our night at Exotic Caye/Crazy Canucks, perfect dock to watch the parade from and not super crowded. Ran into Scotty who is back on the island for a visit.

Afterward, we walked the beach to town for the after-party and awards ceremony in the park. There were lots of booths this year and tons of people came out to celebrate.

I had no trouble going live on mobile taco cam and it was a lot of fun to be able to live stream on tacogirl.com from my phone. Unfortunately, I could not run a check to make sure all systems were working well and later found out the sound was off. I will work on my mobile broadcasting skills haha.

Even though I had a live video on the brain I still managed to take a few pictures. It is not easy to photograph moving lighted boats at night. I threw a shot in of what most people’s pictures were coming out like – crazy light art.

Thanks for the info Alan, I am still learning my way around Canon Powershot . Thinking I need to make time with manual and a highlighter lol. I appreciate your tuning in daily and the encouragement you have given me over time.

    Hi Laurie,
Your Canon Powershot has a sports setting on it which, along with the anti shake feature, should straighten out most of the problems. Use the zoom feature as well.
Keep up the good work and your ambitious streaming video. As I said before, I don’t always leave a reply, but never miss a day.

The question is do you want to be a pro photographer? Your night shots were great, did you get your new camera? You still never changed settings on blogger so I can leave comments on yours – need name url option to show up.

It is not easy at all. I find my hands are too shakey to take night time pictures. DRAT! I’ll never be a professional photographer!

And get the t-shirts emily! 2009 is particularly cute!

That t-shirt is cute — do you know if there are any left, and if so, where they could be purchased? I realized I brought absolutely ZERO Christmas clothing of any sort when we moved to San Pedro. I feel like such a Scrooge!
