2012 San Pedro Lobsterfest

San Pedro Lobsterfest 2012 Dates Announced

My San Pedro Belize weather report – as of last night I have progressed to wearing my Old Navy polar fleece toque to sleep. I felt like a burrito with my hat on all wrapped up in bed and had major layering going on – 2 sheets, 1 duvet cover, 1 sarong, and 2 airline blankets.  Thankfully the wind has died down this morning and while it is still very cool in our second-story apartment when the fluffy white clouds are not covering the sun is nice and toasty.

I had the opportunity to go outside and warm up a bit while doing a photoshoot in our backyard, I needed a blow-up lobster picture for my front page. I would have used the image I shot for Giant Lobster found in the pool at  Grand Caribe Resort but it was a close-up and not wide-angle and I did not want to use a repeat from San Pedro Lobsterfest Block Party 2011.  It was a fun morning in the office 🙂

Now you can start planning your summer in Belize – the organizing committee of San Pedro Lobsterfest is pleased to announce the official dates of the 2012 San Pedro Lobsterfest. Festivities will begin on Friday, June 15th, 2012, and culminate with the traditional Lobsterfest Block Party on Saturday, June 23rd, 2012. With 9 days of celebrations of all things Lobster, the 2012 San Pedro Lobsterfest is the longest and largest Lobsterfest yet! Stay tuned for more announcements of specific events and locations leading up to June.

Don’t think I haven’t made those things (not the cake). I make my own Hollandaise and Alfredo sauce. Cooking is my hobby. I even took a class on the omellette. Its an art you know.Women do not generally go near my kitchens although my skills there have never left me lonely:)

I’ve noticed a lot more lately, that people who allow too much blood in their alcohol stream, often are affected by small changes in temperature. Most important though, is a good substantial breakfast. You can starve yourself until dinner in the evening, then have a good bottle of red or white wine with the meal. Maybe two bottles, if it is good wine!!!!!!
    Works for me.
By the way, Maureen, we are two separate Ai’s, but the other Al is “mein Doppleganger.” from Mexico.

No my friend it is a 30 pesos taxi ride from the wharf. 20 if u go to la Botana about 1 mile down from there. Just don’t take the airport cabs just the regular city ones, but u should know that i hope. Eat well and live.

I think I did thyroid in Sept with my check up, would have to double check my notes. Looking to gain 10 lbs or so.Do you know how far that is from Muelle Fiscal Al, is it walkable?

  7. al salter says:

Well maybe you should have your thyroid levels checked. And you definitely need more fat tissue; no insulation. I thought we agreed you were going to Mexico for Arrachera?
The dining room at the Holiday Inn on ave Heroes does it well. Stay overnite and pig out on the buffet breakfast.

I remember swimming in the Sea in January when we came here on vacation, our Canadian friends were laughing and saying it was way to cold for them and jokingly stated calling us Nordic type people. The older I got the more cold sensitive I noticed myself becoming, even in summer in Canada I used to have to pack warm clothing to go watch a movie 🙂

Laurie, you need to put some more meat on your bones, girl! I slept in long cotton pjs, cotton socks, and a sheet and was perfectly comfortable. Of course, I guess I shouldn’t talk as this is my first “winter’ in Belize. Perhaps in a few years I’ll be as cold-sensitive as you are. If so, I’ll need to do some serious shopping!

I think I am going to bring you a comforter in one of those airtight bags (for storage) so you can have a warm comfy sleep! LOL I can just see you now. Was Paul not being a good bed warmer for you?

Laurie this is very tragic. As you may recall I used to live/work in the arctic. On a clear ,still sunny, -25c day in May I went for walk on the sea ice near Spence Bay, NT wearing jeans, a sweatshirt, and a Toronto Maple Leaf toque. I kept my beer cold in a snow bank and had a picnic with 2 Inuit friends. They should revoke your Canadian citizenship.:)
