Puppy Found in Bag

Puppy rescueWhen Morgan, whose parents own the Playa Lounge, found a discarded plastic bag on the beach last Friday she was shocked and distressed to discover that it contained a tiny puppy. Unwanted, unloved and uncared for, the little puppy had been heartlessly tied up in a plastic bag and thrown to the sea.

Thankfully, Morgan and her parents are supporters of SAGA, the San Pedro Humane Society. They are also huge animal lovers and wanted to make sure they did the right thing, so they generously paid to have the puppy checked over by a vet to make sure that it was healthy and uninjured. That evening they brought the puppy with them to the fundraiser being held by Friends of the Humane Society (FOTHS) at Lime Bar & Grill where the little guy stole everyone’s hearts.

After assisting Robbie, of Roadkill Bar, to raise over $400 in the raffle, the adorable little pup went home with his new owners, who are a very lucky family indeed.

Not only was this a wonderful example of how the business community in San Pedro can cooperate and work together to Puppy Rescuehelp a very worthwhile charity such as SAGA to provide an important service to the community, but it is also an timely reminder that there is never any need to abandon unwanted pets in San Pedro. SAGA, the San Pedro Humane Society, will accept any unwanted pets and care for them until they can be found a permanent and loving home.

If you have a pet that you can no longer care for, please call SAGA on 226 3266 or drop in during the opening hours which are Tuesday – Friday from 1pm – 5 pm or on Saturday between 9am – 12 noon. If you are worried that your dog might have puppies and you would like assistance to prevent this, SAGA can help you to neuter or spay your pet.
