New Years Eve Party Crawl 2017 – Best Parties and Pre Party Dinners

by tacogirl 28/12/2017
written by tacogirl 28/12/2017
New Years Eve Party Crawl Ambergris Caye 2017

As our island grows and changes so does our annual party calendar. This year there is so much going on that a New Years Eve Party Crawl is looking like a good option. A few places are offering delicious dinners as well to help you start the night right and be well fortified to continue on at all the bar parties well into the first day of 2018.

Rather than start with dinners and end with parties, this post is split up by North, South, and Town. Of course being in or near town at midnight is a favored choice if you want to see the fireworks display up close. San Pedro Town Council always goes all out on their fireworks displays. Last year they even had a beach component as well as the regular barge that was action packed with a stunning show. You will be able to see them from afar too depending on where you chose to be at midnight. I have also listed one Pre NYE party at the bottom as it is a good one to help you gear up for 2018 looking fabulous and fresh.

If you want to be a bit adventurous and have wheels, the following list will help you plan your personal party crawl, a super fun way to say farewell 2017 and celebrate the arrival of 2018 on Ambergris Caye.

North Ambergris Caye

Dinner – Gem Restaurant at Sapphire Beach Resort
If you are hungry and adventurous and want to start your night with food and a road trip 9.5 miles north, here is a great multi-course dinner option.
Live Entertainment from 6:00 to 9:00 PM
First Course: Fried yuca crusted shrimp
Second Course: A Vieji bacon and lobster salad
Third Course: Grilled fish, shrimp, and lobster or grilled tenderloin, chicken and Italian sausage kabob
Fourth Course: Chocolate apple marshmallow cinnamon bread pudding
$59.00 USD; includes a glass of wine and a bloody Mary or sangria voucher that can be redeemed at the restaurant or Tiki bar on January 1, 2018.
For reservations call 668-2615

The Dive Bar – 5:00 PM start
This is a good first choice for north parties. You can start off the night just before sunset with some great live music by John Stanley, the singer/songwriter who recently recorded his first album. You’ll find his music intriguing and fresh. He also plays your favorites and will have you tapping your foot or dancing in no time.

Crocs Sunset Sports Bar – 6:00 PM start
This is going to be a fun two story party. The upper-level bar will be open with Valentino playing from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and the middle floor will be DJ Chabo from 9:00 to countdown…. and for a bit into 2018. Lots of shots to be had all night long for this fun and crazy night. Just prior to publishing this, I got word that they will also have fireworks.

New Year’s Eve Pool Party – Truck Stop; 2:00 – 9:00 PM
Also a good party starter choice north after all what better way say goodbye to 2017 and welcome the New Year with a pool party to remember. DJ Debbie performing poolside, followed by live reggae music from the Dennis Wolfe Band. Nothing says celebration like a pig roast and a corn hole tournament, so be prepared to have some fun.

San Pedro Town

Throwback New Year’s Eve Party – Palapa Bar and Grill; 9:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Journey through the best music of the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s with DJ Patron and a guaranteed fun party crowd. There will have food and drink specials, jello shots, along with a complimentary glass of champagne at midnight. Plus you’ll have a perfect view of the San Pedro Town fireworks from the restaurant or the deck.

Central Park Party – Sponsored by the San Pedro Town Council – evening start.
This party is always packed and great for people watching. Dance the night away with Island Fayah, Dj Debbie, Dajah, DJ Jago and Caribbean Roots band! There will be fun party favors and a spectacular fireworks display at midnight.

A New Year’s Eve 2018 French Style Dinner – The French Touch – lounge bar & restaurant
“Fireworks 5 course dinner” – 2 seatings at 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM; $90.00 BZD – ($45.00 USD) per person. Reservation required. Please reserve by Friday December 29th; 631 2600 or message them on their Facebook page.
1st course: Escargot and feta cheese in phyllo dough
2nd course: Blue cheese mousse, star of anise and vanilla poached pear
3rd course: Heart of Romaine bite with avocado Caesar dressing and Parmesan crisp
4th course: Petite Filet Mignon rossini, foie gras, black truffles, Madeira sauce & potato cake
5th course: Chocolate hazelnut mousse in a beggar purse, raspberry coulis

Seaduced By Belize – Sea’s d Day Houseboat Tapas Cruise; 5:00 – 7:00 PM
A yummy and luxurious party starter option on the water. Ring in the new year with a great sunset cruise including drinks, party favors and six courses of tapas: lobster flatbread, pappas bravas, caprese salad skewers, baked feta, shrimp piccata and molten chocolate brownies.
Email: adventureinbelize@gmail.com or call 610-1697 to book your reservation.

South Ambergris Caye

Black Orchid Restaurant & Lounge – 3:00 to 8:30 PM
Get your foodie celebration on with Judyann and Tom before you head to the southern parties. They will serve from their regular menu and have a Lobster & Beef Special. $5.00 BZD glass of Champagne.
Reservations highly recommended. 206-2441

Crazy Canucks New Year’s Eve Bash – 8:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Crazy Canucks has taken a major place on the holiday party scene this year and NYE will be no exception. Party under the stars and away from the big crowds. Music by DJ Keenan all night long. Free shots and plenty of giveaways throughout the night. Glow-stick bracelets and goodies will be provided.

Pirates South Beach Pub & Cafe – 5:00 PM
A great party crawl starting spot on a great stretch of beach south of town with Big Sound, Big Tunes, Beach Party. Giveaways, drink specials and a balloon drop. Music by DJ Matt Hoy, Bryce, and Gracierock. Ideal spot to let loose with great friends and there’s plenty of space to do it.

Pre New Years Eve

Nothing like a little spa party before NYE to look and feel your finest as you step into 2018.

December 30 – Girls Night Out Science & Soul Wellness 5:30 – 7:30 PM
Yoga, Reiki, facial, hair, nails, make-up all for only $80.00 BZD. There will also be dancing, champagne, and a dessert bar.

Love Taco Girl Blog @LaurieNorton! I've been reading this blog since I started visiting Ambergris Caye in Belize almost... 10 years ago. It is filled with helpful up-to-date information and recommendations that I wouldn't necessarily find on my own. Laurie Norton's knowledge and extensive network on the island provides her with the ability to share perks/discounts/coupons with her readers, which come in handy year after year. Things on the island change daily - new businesses pop up constantly and LaurieNortonstays on top of these developments. Whenever I plan my return trip to the island, I always check her blog first - and I recommend you do the same. Trip Advisor ain't got nuttin' on Taco Girl!read more

Of course, it’s... always nice to see her guides on “what to do” in San Pedro, but I also appreciate her “insider” advice and human interest stories on what it’s like living as a local on the island. There is so much information it's amazing! Thank you Laurie!!!read more

I’m so pleased to see tacogirl's blog on Google. Laurie's blog is my official “go to” source for tourist and... local information on San Pedro. Of course, it’s always nice to see her guides on “what to do” in San Pedro, but I also appreciate her “insider” advice and human interest stories on what it’s like living as a local on the island. I especially enjoy her guest articles, providing a different perspective of all things San Pedro. Her tipping quide is a classic, and don’t forget her Tropic Air flight code and on-island discounts. You’re not up-to-date with what’s going on in San Pedro if you’re not regularly reading tacogirl's blog.read more

Do yourself a favor. Read this BEFORE any trip to San Pedro - Ambergris Caye or Belize in general. Not saying “do... what everyone else says”, but Laurie has frank and honest info which will make your stay in country a little more fun, a little more informative, and often at a great cost savings. Best thing: it’s unbiased, honest, and factual. Personal note: thank you for your personal tailored help in answering mine (and my wife’s) questions.read more
