It was a given that with the new runway, that a new Caye Caulker Airport building was to follow. I had no idea what to expect, as a replacement for the previous small wood building that Tropic occupied. As you can see from the featured image above, the new design is quite modern and stylish but still modest. New Caye Caulker Airport
Construction has officially begun. With a timeline of 10 ten months for completion and a cost of $1 Million, Belize dollars, the new 1600 square foot air-conditioned airport terminal will feature state of the art amenities for passengers and cargo.
“Caye Caulker is one of the strong points of tourism in Belize and a key driver of economic growth,” John Greif III, President said. “We see enormous growth in tourism to the island, and this new terminal represents a step forward, in the level of comfort for our passengers and visitors to La Isla Cariñosa”
