Cold weather and not feeling myself the past few days had me not wanting to leave the house. Thankfully, my friends, Aimee and Jack changed that.
I got a message from Aimee yesterday afternoon asking if I was home. Sure enough, within minutes of my answering, she rolled up at my door with the Shark steam mop we had both ordered on woot and had shipped on Belize Freight for us.
She happened to be going to Belize City to meet her mom Cheryl and they were both heading on a short road trip to Dangriga. So when Aimee said if I dropped her at Tropic I could keep her cart, that started to change my tune about wanting to leave the house.
When I got home, I messaged my friend Jack and told him if he had any cart worthy errands over the next 2 days to let me know. He answered back a while later and mentioned the start of the Love FM Parade at Wayos beach bar. So in spite of having just settled down with my smart TV, I told him I would be chauffeur but not likely stay.
So I got my warm gear on, drove south of town to pick him up and deliver him to Wayos to catch the parade line-up and of course, I stayed 😀 Thankfully it was noticeably warmer on the beachside than the lagoon side of town.
There were so many people to catch up with and a few new ones to meet. We mingled and watched decorated carts lining up. Soon it was time for the group shot, which was Jacks reason to go. I have never seen so many walkaholics (a group of men that meet up daily and walk along the beach) in one place, he estimated there are about 99 now. Of course, there were a few walkettes represented too – see the picture below.
Not long after taking the picture I was feeling like I was ready to roll, so when Jack said he was done for the night, I was happy to drive him back home. I was hoping to catch the parade as I passed back through town but it was on Belize time so I went back to my cozy blanket and TV.
