My 6 Degrees Of Separation With 90 Day Fiance

by tacogirl 16/03/2021
written by tacogirl 16/03/2021
90 Day Fiance Belize

This piece is about the unfolding of my best, and completely unexpected, 90 Day Fiance Belize experience, ever. It is dedicated to all my friends that are 90 Day Fiance fans, and the many people who have enjoyed playing with my hula hoops at Amber Beach Bar and Grill over the years.

Let The Story Begin

My friend Debbie Klauber randomly messaged yesterday and we got talking about Season 8 of 90 Day Fiance, which I thought was still on break. I quickly learned it wasn’t. Immediately I went to one of my smart tv options, the Cinema apk app to see if more shows had been added. Sure enough, episodes 10 – 15 were magically there. Happy Monday morning to me 😀

So I settled in to enjoy a new episode of my favorite show. Even more than usual if that’s possible because it was the Belize season (8) and I would get to see Victoria House – I love it there.

Back it up

Flashback to October 15th, 2020, when Janet Woollam from VH resort messaged me. They had a film crew there who had requested two adult hula hoops. The resort didn’t have time to work out making or importing any, so Janet asked if I would loan them a couple of mine. (It’s not easy to find adult-sized hoops in Belize.) Of course, I was an instant yes. I was not sure who was using them but I decided to send all 5 just in case, and one of the resort staff, Luis came to pick them up.

Bringing it Back

March 15th, 2021 (yesterday) imagine my sheer delight when the dots suddenly connected. I was as excited as a kid in a candy store. Not only was I catching up on my favorite show, but a treasured toy of mine was in it. I tried a few times with two different cameras to capture pictures from TV – not great. So I decided to screenshot a few from youtube and mix in a few of my own at the bottom.

In the first Belize scene of episode 10, Stephanie and Ryan, (the American/Belizean couple) were enjoying my hula hoops on the beach. (At the time Victoria House Resort had needed my hoops, I did not know the show was filming on Ambergris Caye. Since Ryan is from Ladyville, they could have chosen any number of wonderful locations throughout the country).

 90 Day Fiance Belize

Earlier in the season, we saw Stephanie at her Michigan Home, training to beat the current 100 hour Guinness world record for the longest hula hooping. I cannot imagine hooping for 100 hours straight. My longest is 1 hour, and I was able to last thanks to one of my good music video playlists on TV. While watching her spin, I never saw her even come close to dropping the hoop once.

90 Day Fiance Belize

It was clear Stephanie was a pro, Ryan picked it up fast and I could tell by watching him, he was in the moment and enjoying it. He was also appreciating her skills with a high 5.

 90 Day Fiance Belize

After playing on the beach, it was time for Stephanie and Ryan to take a relaxing break by the Caribbean Sea.

Credits

Thanks to 90 Day Fiance and Victoria house for coming together to make a dream I didn’t even know I had come true – 6 degrees of separation with 90 Day Fiance 😀 Also to the 90 Day Fiance YouTubers whose videos I screenshotted for this post.

Featured Image – Ebird Online. She does an interesting commentary/review channel. This particular one was The Truth about Ryan & Stephanie.

By searching for the hooping scene, I found the action shots with my toys that I wanted, the following video – Stephanie, Ryan & Harris Engage in Hula Hoop Diplomacy from Master Of BlackJack Channel 2.

Unfortunately, the diplomacy dropped faster than Ryans hoop. Thankfully I was able to help provide them with 5 minutes of fun before their relationship ended.

90 Day Fiance Belize

Last but not least thanks to my funny friend Debbie of Pirate Girl Treats – far right in the pic below. She has provided me with way more than 5 minutes of fun and inspiration. This picture was taken when my friend Sandie (who also helped edit this piece) and I did a heavenly, girls getaway at Victoria House. Of course, we had to show off our large downstairs bathroom before we went for dinner. As for the rest of the girls in the pic (Emily, Rosemary, and Aimee) they have all seen 90-day Fiance at my house, some more than others. 😀

Luxury Resort Belize

We were just as happy with the upstairs at Casa Azul as we were with our luxury-sized bathtub-a rare commodity on Ambergris.

90 Day Fiance Belize

Of course, I would not leave you hanging for a good beach picture from our 2017 getaway. This one was taken steps away from where Ryan and Stephanie were playing with my hula hoops 😀

Thanks, Cathy, it was so much fun unfolding it. I was just thinking about you the other day remembering the fun day we had driving around Caye Caulker with Brad.

Thanks, Barb, as a fan yourself you know how exciting it was. Tourism is slowly coming back, I am still working out how to save my business now that my flight code was dissolved due to covid. Hope you are staying safe in Ontario.

Love Taco Girl Blog @LaurieNorton! I've been reading this blog since I started visiting Ambergris Caye in Belize almost... 10 years ago. It is filled with helpful up-to-date information and recommendations that I wouldn't necessarily find on my own. Laurie Norton's knowledge and extensive network on the island provides her with the ability to share perks/discounts/coupons with her readers, which come in handy year after year. Things on the island change daily - new businesses pop up constantly and LaurieNortonstays on top of these developments. Whenever I plan my return trip to the island, I always check her blog first - and I recommend you do the same. Trip Advisor ain't got nuttin' on Taco Girl!read more

Laurie's blog is my official “go to” source for tourist and local information on San Pedro. Of course, it’s always nice... to see her guides on “what to do” in San Pedro, but I also appreciate her “insider” advice and human interest stories on what it’s like living as a local on the island. There is so much information it's amazing! Thank you Laurie!!!read more

I’m so pleased to see tacogirl's blog on Google. Laurie's blog is my official “go to” source for tourist and local... information on San Pedro. Of course, it’s always nice to see her guides on “what to do” in San Pedro, but I also appreciate her “insider” advice and human interest stories on what it’s like living as a local on the island. I especially enjoy her guest articles, providing a different perspective of all things San Pedro. Her tipping quide is a classic, and don’t forget her Tropic Air flight code and on-island discounts. You’re not up-to-date with what’s going on in San Pedro if you’re not regularly reading tacogirl's blog.read more

Do yourself a favor. Read this BEFORE any trip to San Pedro - Ambergris Caye or Belize in general. Not saying “do what... everyone else says”, but Laurie has frank and honest info which will make your stay in country a little more fun, a little more informative, and often at a great cost savings. Best thing: it’s unbiased, honest, and factual. Personal note: thank you for your personal tailored help in answering mine (and my wife’s) questions.read more
