This year has been a particularly low offseason for many and it is no surprise that there was some increase in island crime. Heaven help the person who thought they could benefit from stealing my sad-looking aloe vera plant. It was funny because I did not notice it gone right away and instead noticed a clump of crocuses laying in the drive as I was pulling out. Someone had uprooted them from the planter box at what used to be Atlantic International and just left them there. It was only after I returned home that I noticed my planter had “walked away.”
Halloween Wrapup
I did not do the big party circuit this year. Due to the day of the week Halloween fell, the action was very spread out from October 26 to November 3rd. Thankfully a few of my friends Margaret, Leslie, and Linda were willing to snap a few pics from the first few parties for you.
I saved myself for the big Saga event. It took me a minute to wrap this one up as I was patiently waiting for the hardworking Saga volunteers Katia (Pampered Paws) and Heather Smith (Caye to the Heart) to finish counting and give me the fundraiser total (see below.) Three cheers to all the Saga volunteers who worked hard at the 2019 fundraiser.
Around San Pedro Town
First comes a few pics of the big Holiday Hotel Halloween party courtesy of Leopard Lady, Leslie Leigh Lawrence. This was her first San Pedro Halloween circuit and by the time I caught up with her in person at Saga, she said she had a great time but was glad it was coming to an end after this last party.
Wayo’s Beach Bar party was on Halloween Night. Pictures courtesy of Margaret Elizabeth Hulse of Mpulse Studio and the love necklace campaign.
Also on October 31st D’ Rocks Rooftop Bar and Lounge in San Pablo had their party. Halloween night photos courtesy of Linda Stevens of Brooklyn Bagels.
Saga Humane Society Fundraiser
Last but definitely not least, Sunday, November 3rd was the 16th Annual Halloween Spooktacular for Saga Humane Society who is celebrating 20 years of service to Ambergris Caye Animals.
Of course one of the first things I did when I got to the jam-packed Saga party was scope out the food tables to find the cupcakes. I was pleasantly surprised to find someone had also made dog bone cookies. Of course I ate a couple and of course, I wish I had more 😀

I had to include this last pic courtesy of Cindy Vigna, the costume she made for her daughter Tinker this year for Island Academy School Halloween was very impressive.
