Easter weekend is one of the busiest times of year on Ambergris Caye. According to Ambergris Daily Golf cart companies are all rented out and Tropic Airlines are having their best Easter ever as their arrivals are [according to their sources within the company] going through the roof, and breaking all previous records.
Saturday Easter Weekend Events
Monthly poker run starts at Roadkill Bar on Saturday night at 6.00pm and will finish at Pedro’s.
Pedro’s is pleased to announce a big Easter party with musicians playing and karaoke on Saturday night. Starts at 6.30pm. Drink specials are available – likely to be all you can drink local rum drinks for 40 bzd. It is expected that the night will be even better the St. Patrick’s Day Party.
Sunday Easter Weekend Events
Moose’s Annual Kite competition on the beach at Crazy Canucks – kids have to build their own kites some help is ok. As some of you know I am a big kite flying fan and have enjoyed 2009 Kite Competition – 2010 kite competition. Saga fundraiser at Caribbean Villas Sunday from 11:00am – 3:00pm. $5 per child for the Easter egg hunt. There will be food drinks and more.
Mama Vilma’s – why not spend Easter Sunday with some good people, having some good fun, raising money for a GREAT cause.
From 1030 -? The Mama Vilma Family Home will be hosting an Easter Party in Central Park! 100% of all proceeds go the Mama Vilma Family Home.
There will be: A Fashion Show – Easter Bunny with Photos for kids – TWO different Bands and A DJ for all day fun! – Hoola Hoop Contest – Punta Contest – Tons of Food – Beer and Rum Punch for $4!!
“The purpose of Mama Vilma’s Family Home is to provide disenfranchised families and children with housing, food, medical care, counseling, and education to connect them with the San Pedro Community and assist them with building a strong family unit. The goals and objectives of Mama Vilma Family Home are to:
1) Secure a building to be opened initially as a 28 bed facility focusing on the physical and emotional needs of children, women, families and men.
2) Collect, coordinate and disseminate knowledge and educate clients and the community about the causes, prevalence and treatment of child and family abuse
3) Promote awareness of child and family abuse through education and to motivate the public to seek services for early detection of abuse and other related family concerns.”
