Roadkill Bar Presents Minute to Win It for Charity.
Based on the hit TV show, contestants compete in seemingly simple challenges with everyday items in hopes of skipping elimination and moving on to the next round. After competing last night I can say it’s not so simple and I need to practice big time. It was well worth the $10 entry fee though and we had loads of fun.
Go to Roadkill Monday nights at 7:00 pm and take a Minute to Win It for charity. It costs $10 BZD to play and in addition to raising money for a great cause each week, it gets you a free Traveller’s Rum drink and a chance to win prizes donated from local businesses.
Last night’s soft opening raised a total of $80 for the Lion’s Club. There were 7 entries and one person decided to kick in an extra $10.
Among the players, there was some serious competition and it made for a fun and exciting night. We also kept the audience in stitches as we tried our best to complete the not so simple challenges. Who would have thought sliding a cookie from your forehead to your mouth would be so challenging? Good thing the cookies were sturdy as we each got 2 only and they hit the floor many times – 5-second rule 😀
This weeks games were: How’s it Hanging, Face the Cookie, Tilt a Cup and Rapid Fire.
Nutstacker was the final elimination game between Larry and Roman – the two top players of the night. They had to build a free-standing tower from metal nuts suspended on a chopstick. This has to be done one-handed and stacking them one on their edges and without knocking the stack over. They both tied it up doing the challenge on a bar stool so to make it harder, they did a rematch while holding a pizza pan. It was amazing to watch.
Larry Hasbrouck from Colorado went on to take the win for Grand Champion and walked away with a $10 roadkill gift certificate and Caye Coffee flavored Rum cake made by Wade the Gringo. Runner-up Roman won a $10 certificate and a Roadkill Koozie.
Don’t forget to mark your Calendars for Next Monday, November 16th at 7:00 pm and come support next week’s Charity of choice which will be the Belize Red Cross San Pedro Branch. Watch Roadkill Bar Facebook page for the prize details and official event invitation.
The evening’s games will not be announced ahead of time, but if you want to practice at home, please go to That Blueprint Guy on YouTube. Roadkill has a good choice selection built up for the weekly competition but it is important to note not all games are possible here.
Pictures just do not do the evening justice. I made a video for you to really get a feel for the action.
