Sadly yesterday was our last day at Ka’ana. We woke up super early and enjoyed a leisurely morning and iced coffee in our Casita before heading to breakfast. I had the “Just Caught” omelet stuffed with reef spiny lobster and shrimp and Paul ordered Longanisa sausage with organic scrambled eggs – both were delicious. You can see more options on La Ceiba breakfast menu.
Over breakfast we were debating going for a quick trip to Xunantunich before heading back to San Pedro but we decided we were happy to spend the last of our time at Ka’ana over leaving the resort and figured we will do that next time. Will also try to hook up with Michelle and Dr Feel Awesome as we never did make it to town for a drink Saturday night.
Took the 1pm bus back to Belize city – this time we got charged $7 bzd each [versus $10 on the way there]. The price difference could possibly be that we said Benque on the way there even though we got dropped off before then. At first we ended up in the back – the music was a bit loud and the ride bumpy. When we hit Belmopan we were able to move closer to the front. We got dropped off at Cemetery Road and Central American Blvd and caught a cab to Municipal Airstrip to get the 4:40 Tropic flight back home. We flew in one one of the small 4 seat planes home first time for that. Caught a cab easily at San Pedro airstrip – there are always some waiting. We had to stop at the San Pedro Animal Hospital on the way home and grab timeshare pets. They were both super excited to see us though I am sure Basil was not impressed to be put in his cat carrier again.
Emily that omelet was a heavenly breakfast – the chefs there are amazing well worth the trip. Glad you enjoyed our anniversary trip. Ka’ana is on facebook too http://www.facebook.com/pages/San-Ignacio-Belize/Kaana-Belize-boutique-resort/10483929084
Sorry we missed you too Dr Feel Awesome – next time we will find you. We did have a great anniversary and it was so nice to have a romantic break away from the island for a few days.
Thanks Alida got your email and link so I followed you back.

Oh my, that omelet! You are making my mouth water – all the food is so artistically beautiful. Need to go to Ka’ana ourselves! Followed them on Twitter so I won’t forget. Thanks for sharing your anniversary trip with us!
