Other than a pile of wet towels cause our side windows leak we did not personally get any damage from last night’s storm. When Carole and I drove around town Boca Del Rio had the most power that we saw – town had a bit and south was pretty black. We took the beach way up to the park and lots of people had their boats pulled out – the waves & water levels were pretty high and lots of sea grass and driftwood blown around on the beach. It started to rain heavier sometime after 11pm and the power came back on for us around 3:30.
Cindy texted this morning to see if we wanted to go for walkies – we will meet up with her and Carole soon to check out what the beach looks like after Tropical Storm Alex.
Walk turned into a visit to the vet with Cindy and Jeff’s neighbors puppy who had a hurt leg – a lengthy breakfast and backgammon at Estels. Came back for a quick refresh at home and we are off to Cholo’s to watch Mexico vs Argentina.
That was a fun crazy day. Was a pretty funny conversation finding out at breakfast that other people have seen bunnies here. Will have to play more backgammon.
Chuck Norris the bunny who roams free in my street – don’t forget, Chuck Norris can cook minute rice in 30 seconds. That was a pretty fun crazy day, I can’t believe EVERYONE beat me at backgammon. Oh well.
tacoboy had better than an adequate supply of light Joey. We have a rechargeable portable dvd player that my cousin brought us on her last visit so we got to relax and watch Hangover after the power went out.
Good thing was nothing major for you Remo. We got to Cholo’s a few min after game had started and were surprised how fast Argentina was scoring. Never did see the end numbers just know there was lots of cheering for Argentina. Missed USA match all together between vet visit and Estels did get a chance to poke fun at our Britt friends who turned up for breakfast when the match was done.
Oct 29th coming up fast Laura. I agree hoping Gulf of Mexico fares ok.
Glad you and friends are ok tacogirl.
My house had some damage from fallen trees but nothing major. I will get some of my workers to fix things up tomorrow.
By the way whats up with Mexico and the game? They missed a ton of goal opportunities!!
Oh and the USA played MUCH better than England this world cup. My dad (child born to British ex-pats) is hanging his head down low today:(
Anyway, nice pics by the way.
cheers….
Sounds like Alex got carried away. Those of us who love the Gulf of Mexico are hoping that he doesn’t get all oily. Pensacola Beach is a mess! Looking forward to the sandy shores of San Pedro…Octonber 29 is not so far down the road.
Glad to hear everyone is allright, Alex should prove interesting as it moves off Yucatan peninsula into gulf and heads for the US it could fire up into hurricane strength…we will see. I hope Taco Boy had an adaquate supply of “Light” to carry him through the storm. Miss you guys…keep in touch.
