Golf Cart Mechanics 101

San Pedro Belize beach pictures

After a small mix up about Dick driving Paul to Lara’s to help chicken wire her fence, he noticed that 2 nuts had come loose on the cart. It was very lucky that he figured that out while it was parked. We took a cab to town got our errands done and headed back so he could get to work on fixing the cart and the Christmas tree. Judging by the rusty washer he found on the ground the bolts has been unscrewed for a while now and all it would have taken at this point was a few good bumps to shake the screws loose from the suspension.

Got a a really good reminder to not bitch about the things we are not looking forward to from Mitch’s email who went back to -34 and colder weather for Christmas. She almost missed her flight home, got minor frost bite and could not get her vehicle up and running.

I have a question for you. It was brought up a while back that I should consider removing blogs off my blog roll that do not update regularly? I am considering it and looking for a second opinion. I was thinking if someone has not posted in a month or more that is a fair cut off time.

Tip for those of you those staying further North or south who have a kitchen option with their hotel belizegrocery.com is an option. You can pre order and have your room stocked and ready when you arrive.

Great human interest piece on local artist Kurt Cruise today on ambergrisdaily.com. He is such an inspiring person and in spite of the stabbing that left him paralyzed he has accomplished so much and come so far on his journey.

San Pedro Weather – keep waterproof today.

More to come…

I really did not want to go to Aquafit but made myself go anyways. Madame is taking 10 days time off from teaching over the holidays. My other option was the 36o emails waiting for me to sort through them. I finally got started on this this afternoon and am making a dent. For anyone who may be waiting for correspondence from me thanks for your patience I am sorting through it as fast as I can.

For those of you daydreaming about flying south for the winter. If you are lucky enough to catch a seat sale and want to combine that with a cheap place to stay so you have more fun money on your vacation, Pedro’s Hotel in Belize made renovations in 2009-2010 making the best value in Belize even better.

Hi TACOGIRL.. Great idea to remove blogs that are not updated on somewhat regular basis. I HATE clicking on a link only to find it hasn’t been updated in many moons. I guess another option I have seen on some blogs is that there is a date field that indicates the last time the blog was updated.
PS keep working on the photo slideshow.. that will be an excellent feature, esp when you are able to post alot of pictures.

Definitely a lot of work to do a daily blog Colette, not sure how I keep up sometimes.

Thanks Gail it was a bit long to implement that but I do agree. I am going to get to pruning a bit very soon and hopefully that will make way for some new ones. I will look into the date option as that would be helpful too. Fingers crossed sideshow will be up and running soon.

Thank goodness for that, I suddenly thought I would have to start blogging monthly and the pressure was just too much for me. How you one every day, I just don’t know! xx

If it bothers you that we don’t blog often enough, just knock our link right off. xx

I do not think you do not blog enough you have your set schedule and we always know there is more coming.

To clarify – from the feedback I received, I am talking more about people who never update for months and months so every time the person checked back they never saw anything new.

TG,

Yes that is an inspirational story. Hopefully Kurt will find fulfillment in his efforts that will render his art to a higher level.

I think so Ice. When ever I see him I am reminded of just how far you can go if you set your mind to it. He really was able to triumph over a bad situation and keep smiling growing and loving life.

Might just be my server but your link to the grocery store does not work. It says it is no longer there.

Hi Tom I double checked and got same error message. I am fixing the link right now. Thanks for pointing that out as I do not always manage to check links before I am onto the next thing.

Love Taco Girl Blog @LaurieNorton! I've been reading this blog since I started visiting Ambergris Caye in Belize almost... 10 years ago. It is filled with helpful up-to-date information and recommendations that I wouldn't necessarily find on my own. Laurie Norton's knowledge and extensive network on the island provides her with the ability to share perks/discounts/coupons with her readers, which come in handy year after year. Things on the island change daily - new businesses pop up constantly and LaurieNortonstays on top of these developments. Whenever I plan my return trip to the island, I always check her blog first - and I recommend you do the same. Trip Advisor ain't got nuttin' on Taco Girl!read more

Laurie's blog is my official “go to” source for tourist and local information on San Pedro. Of course, it’s... always nice to see her guides on “what to do” in San Pedro, but I also appreciate her “insider” advice and human interest stories on what it’s like living as a local on the island. There is so much information it's amazing! Thank you Laurie!!!read more

I’m so pleased to see tacogirl's blog on Google. Laurie's blog is my official “go to” source for tourist and... local information on San Pedro. Of course, it’s always nice to see her guides on “what to do” in San Pedro, but I also appreciate her “insider” advice and human interest stories on what it’s like living as a local on the island. I especially enjoy her guest articles, providing a different perspective of all things San Pedro. Her tipping quide is a classic, and don’t forget her Tropic Air flight code and on-island discounts. You’re not up-to-date with what’s going on in San Pedro if you’re not regularly reading tacogirl's blog.read more

Do yourself a favor. Read this BEFORE any trip to San Pedro - Ambergris Caye or Belize in general. Not saying “do... what everyone else says”, but Laurie has frank and honest info which will make your stay in country a little more fun, a little more informative, and often at a great cost savings. Best thing: it’s unbiased, honest, and factual. Personal note: thank you for your personal tailored help in answering mine (and my wife’s) questions.read more
