It is starting to become “busy season” on Ambergris Caye. Not only do the tourists start returning much to the pleasure of business owners, but by this, I mean it gets very busy as we lead up to Christmas in Belize. Events and invitations are popping up daily, pretty soon we will be able to take all the island events and make an Island holiday Advent calendar 😀
Taste of the Caye
November 29 was the Taste of The Caye event hosted by ECI Development from 4:00 pm – 5:30. As always it was a great time. Not only did I get to socialize with my friends but I got to enjoy some great food and drink courtesy of local restaurants. This time the line up was: Patz’s Delicatessen & Bakery, Casa Picasso, Black & White Garifuna Restaurant, Island Wonder Kitchen & Bar, Crocs Sunset Sports Bar, Caye Coffee. The Garifuna drummers and dancers provided cultural entertainment we ate and socialized. After the two complimentary beverages offered at the event, drink sale proceeds were donated to Hope Haven Shelter.

Lighted Boat Parade
Official viewing stations for the final holiday boat parade are: Hurricanes Ceviche Bar, Wayo’s Beach Bar, Sandy Toes Beach Bar, Sandbar Beachfront Restaurant, Palapa Bar & Grill, Fido’s Beach Bar, Estel’s Dine by the Sea, with the turn around point at Crazy Canucks Beach Bar.
Any time I’m not in the parade, I have always chosen Palapa Bar as my spot to view because it is across the beach road from Sandbar and the after-party. No matter where you opt to watch from, head on over to the Awards Ceremony to see which creative boat designs win their share of $10,000 in cash and prizes.
