Day 2 of celebrating JD
Yesterday afternoon many people came out to toast JD, share stories and sing some of his favorite karaoke songs at the Pier Lounge. It was nice to hear how JD touched peoples lives and how much he was loved and respected here in San Pedro.
Today the sun was shining and it was a perfect day for the second ceremony for JD. Reverend David gave a lovely service and did a reading from his kids. Afterwards a few people shared their favorite memories of JD and then we all headed down the dock to scatter his ashes in the sea.
This post is dedicated to Ross, Kris, Justine and Joanne – JD’s 2 sons, two daughters, JD and Richie who I am sure have been looking down on all the celebrating .
Peace JD – we will all miss you but not forget you

Jan thank you so much it was my pleasure to be able to do this for all of you.
The Dunlop family have asked the local newspaper to put in a ‘thank you’ to all of you who helped JD in his lifetime and at his death. We’d like to say a particular “thank you” to TacoGirl for this beautifully presented pictorial story of John’s memorial. It broke our hearts but it was wonderful to view. Thank you so much TacoGirl. With love and gratitude, the Dunlop Family.
