Tonight was a first for me at one of the well known San Pedro Social Clubs – Wine de Vine on a Friday night. Ann had suggested it would be a good spot to meet up with Susan Carter managing editor of Caribbean Property and Lifestyles Magazine – this is a great site to check out for anyone who has the dream of living in the Tropics. Carib Pro offers information on Caribbean Opportunities – becoming an expat – Caribbean Living – Medical Tourism in the Caribbean, Caribbean Vacation Rentals, and so much more. Susan has a very interesting history but I am not going to give away to much now as she is going to be featured in an upcoming Spotlight on tacogirl. She Lives in Dominica and came for a short visit from Chetumal Mexico area where she is currently estate sitting. Had a good afternoon in town starting with the walk there. As I turned the corner of our street Rick our neighbor was passing by and and offered me a lift as far as Marina’s I thanked him for the ride and took a few steps towards town then Dan who owns Lagniappe Provisioning pulled up beside me and said hop on as far as Crazy Canucks beach bar – that was good enough for me. Did a few errands – chatted with Maya outside the post office and Steve at Pirate Pizza. As I was walking back home our afternoon meeting that was canceled got rescheduled last min at Playa Lounge so we got to people watch and take care of business at the same time – Love living in San Pedro. Caught an interesting article yesterday that was picked up by US News & World Report and as a result went viral and made it on page one of on Yahoo Finance News – The article was about How to Retire Comfortably for Under $1,500 a Month and written by Kathleen Peddicord founder of the Live and Invest Overseas publishing group. It mentioned how retirees in Belize are finding many interesting and sometimes lucrative ways to fill their days and sited Lara Lennon owner of Lemon Crush Belize as an example. For those of you who are not familiar with Live and Invest Overseas does free E-letters and has past articles on their website. Their focus is on educating people with current and informative information about inexpensive places to retire overseas – investment abroad – doing business and owning real estate over seas.
Nice post!
I agree Barry would have been a good area to include. Did you catch my recent post about Ann’s medical care and cost after breaking her hip here? She gave great details. https://tacogirl.com/2010/08/belize-hospital/
