Thanks to Dick and Carole’s golf cart, Cindy, Cherie, Paul and I all made our way to the Palapa Bar this afternoon for Fred’s memorial service.
When we got there, the place was packed with friends and family who came to pay their respects. People gave speeches and talked about how Fred had impacted their lives. 3 different boats took people to the reef to scatter flower petals and his ashes, while the rest of us watched from the Palapa Bar.
After the service, we took the back way home so we could catch the sunset. Cindy suggested we go for food and a drink at Sunset Grill and we all agreed it was a good plan. We chatted and enjoyed shrimp appetizers and a drink.
While on our way to drop Cindy and Cherie off, we saw Jack walking home from docking his boat, so we hijacked him and brought him along for the ride.

I bet that was a great fishing trip Kevin. Fred’s Memorial was full of hurting hearts and sharing great memories.
I had the pleasure of spending time with Fred and Vern fishing last time I was in Belize. What a sweet sweet man! I just learned of his passing and my heart hurts. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and kids.

Hi Evelyn email on the way. Hopefully I can put you in touch with someone who might have an answer.
I was wondering about information about Fred Somes. I am looking for my birth mothers father. I am trying to rule out people. Can you please email me. She passed away May 27 2009, and her mother was Dora Huggett in Sarnia Ontario. Please and thank you.
I did not know him as well as many there Bill but you are right about the well liked – many good memories were shared.
What a wonderful tribute to a man who was Definately well liked.
I didn’t know him, but I wish I had.
