Continuing my work with the Belize Tourism Board in 2016, I was approached by the BTB to do some writing for them.
They teamed up with The Reporter Newspaper to develop Toucan Talk; a full-page, full-color feature periodical newsletter. These publications are geared at bringing awareness to Belizeans and encouraging them to be a #BelizeanTraveller. The ads will feature different sites, activities, and festivals throughout Belize, and have some great visuals.
Sightseeing in San Pedro is something many of us that live here do a lot, be it with friends or visiting company.

San Ignacio Belize is a popular place to travel.
Finding Adventure in San Ignacio
Having been involved behind the scenes with San Pedro Lobster Fest from the start, I was happy that in 2016 my advance promotion came in the form of a full-color page ad printed in the Reporter on Friday the 13th. I have also enjoyed Caye Caulker Lobster Fest by boat and have heard Placencia Lobster Fest is worth going to. (Please note for San Pedro and Placencia links are to their website and the Facebook pages are easily looked up under the same name. Caye Caulker is linked to their Facebook page.)
May full-page ad in the Reporter Newspaper
I was very honored to write about Easter on Caye Caulker with a couple of pictures and BTB made a great advertisement with my submission.

Judge for the Belize Tourism Awards
Every year the BTB does tourism awards recognizing local businesses for outstanding work in the community and environmental practices. There is so much effort beyond what most people realize in running a sound business here.
Judging the 2015 Tourism Board awards and was an amazing educational experience as was attending the big awards ceremony at the Holiday Hotel, to enjoy everyone being recognized for their hard work. This year was extra special as it was the 15th annual Belize Tourism Awards, celebrating 50 years of tourism in San Pedro.

The Belize Tourism Board has also shown support to the San Pedro Belize Red Cross. The picture below was taken when they donated a check to our branch to help with the relief of the fire victims. The branch also worked closely with the San Pedro Lions Club in this community effort.

I took the plunge and moved to San Pedro Town on the Island of Ambergris Caye, off the coast of Belize, Central America. Originally from Canada, I made the life-changing move to escape winter for good (in 2006) after one three week vacation.

Sparking my desire
3 childhood memories that shaped my desire to move to Belize from a young age.
Sailing in the Virgin Islands, seeing a rainbow out the window of an island hopper as we flew from Virgin Islands to Puerto Rico, Christmas in Hawaii and many trips to Florida.
