This page features a list of Belize information and resources and a few surrounding area ones. I have listed them in alphabetical order and have included a brief description. Ambergris Caye message board – Joining this site and looking for a nickname is what originally branded me as tacogirl. Aside from the forum part, Marty’s site is filled with information about vacation planning, moving to Belize, doing business and so much more.
Ambergris Today – This local newspaper has been around since 1999 starting out as a weekly publication online and in print and moving to daily online. This news service creates social awareness, covers local, countrywide and international events that affect our community.
A Belize Home for us – Started in 2012 John, a British Expat has provided a great deal of useful information in his blog. He and his lovely Irish wife Rose had been coming to Ambergris Caye for 14 years prior to their move. His blog takes you on a journey by sharing the experiences they have had both pain and pleasure as they build their dream home and live their life in Belize.
Belize Bus and Travel Guide – This site is probably the best site for Belize and Mexico bus information. Mister B created this site from what he learned while travelling in Belize.
Expat.com – Find answers to your questions and get advice from expatriates on this Belize Forum. Here you will find advice and information on everything from bringing pets to Belize, to finding a place to live, getting a job, retirement procedures and more.
Meandering Fool – From 2014 to 2017 this blogger kept readers entertained with his sarcastic sense of humour and tales of owning a dive shop in Belize. Kendall’s writing is filled with thoughts, plans, reflections, and some goofy stuff along the way… and lots of food. Still worth a read.
NEMO Belize – This site is filled with up-to-date weather information, image gallery press releases and useful information about where the shelters are and how to care for yourself and your pets in the event of a major storm. Thankfully over the past 85 years, Belize has only seen 16 Hurricanes (only 8 were ‘major’ storms), and 17 tropical storms.
National Hurricane Center – This site is filled with data, tools and resources to help stay safe in the event of a storm. It also provides up-to-date coverage, tropical weather outlooks and storm tracking.
San Pedro Belize Weather – This site gives current weather conditions for San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, Belize
Scuba Lessons Belize – Elbert posts occasional amazing sunrise pictures on his blog and he often posts great underwater pictures as well.
Trip Advisor Belize Forum – If you are looking into going to Belize for the first time, this forum is a great option to help you decide where to go. Of course, it’s very opinionated but the information can be invaluable.
Weather Underground – Important information on hurricanes and tropical cyclones. This site also makes the best downloadable weather app. On this site, you will also find Dr. Jeff Masters’s weather blog.
It may not be for everyone Tom, and while people come and go, many still like traveling to or living in Belize.
