A little about San Pedro…
San Pedro Town is in the south part of Ambergris Caye in northern Belize. It’s town core spans from the airport area to the roundabout. The streets are lined with shops, wooden houses, restaurants, and bars. There is also a nice big park area in the center of town right by the beach. Central Park offers good people watching, a great Caribbean Sea view and early evening – late-night street meat.
For those who like to shop, there is an Artisan Market on Back St., filled with hand-crafted trinkets that make great gifts. I also recommend 12 Belize Shop for a good selection for vacation shopping. As for food, you will find many different styles of restaurants in all price ranges that will satisfy your taste buds.
Activities and Tours
Hol Chan Marine Reserve is a channel in the Belize Barrier reef that offers amazing snorkeling and is only a ten-minute boat ride away from San Pedro Town. It is one of the top activities to do while staying in San Pedro and offers snorkeling and dive sites with a vast array of marine life including sea urchins, moray eels and sea turtles. A little further south you’ll find nurse sharks and stingrays at Shark Ray Alley, which is usually included in most tours.
