One Day San Pedro Belize Itinerary

• Wake up (hopefully without a hangover) at Blue Tang, brush my teeth, and head down to the resort’s palapa for fresh fruit and orange juice.
• Walk across the beach to Chuck and Robbie’s for my usual two-morning dives. I hope Big Sexy, Gio, Danny, or Loidy will spot dolphins today. (Seriously, I’m a divemaster with hundreds of dives, and every time I’ve seen dolphins has been in Belize.)
• Lunchtime. After showering, walk north up the beach to Hurricane’s Ceviche for the best ceviche in San Pedro. Hurricane’s is the only San Pedro bar I’ve found with Bacardi Solera rum, so I’ll throw down a couple of Cuba Libres while watching Josh baffle me with his bar games. (Susan’s in for a pina colada or two.)
• After lunch, it’s time for one of our daily trips to Sandy Toes. A couple of Belikins, while talking with Ish, gazing at my hanging Longhorn flag, and receiving outstanding service from Javier, Manuel, and Louis.
• Time to head back toward Blue Tang. It’s late afternoon, so Susan and I need an order of fried pickles at The Sandbar. We’ll typically partake in The Sandbar’s usually outstanding daily drink special.
• After changing clothes for dinner, it’s time to wander down Front Street, peering into Lola’s Pub to see if any friends are there. Maybe stop by Carlo and Ernie’s Runway Bar to watch a few Tropic Air flights.
• However, we have to get to The Office by late afternoon for the best sunset view in San Pedro. Hopefully, Chuckie and Big Mac will feed the tarpons off the pier. Another Belikin or two, or maybe the Office’s ridiculously inexpensive Cuba Libres with local rum, along with their outstanding seasoned French fries.
• Time for dinner. We love Elvi’s Kitchen for its food, and El Patio for its magnificent outdoor setting. Regardless, it will be simple, grilled fresh fish and wine for both of us.
• After dinner, we’ll wander over to Havana Cigar for a nice puro, a glass of Macallan, and excellent conversation with Carlos.
• Time for a slow, romantic stroll hand-in-hand up the beach and back to The Blue Tang. If we hear good live music (hopefully reggae), we might stop in for a few songs.
• Finally, a nightcap on the Blue Tang’s fourth-story 360-degree deck, with a magnificent view of the city in all directions. One last Cuba Libre for the evening, with rum bought at Goldson on our way into the country. A final toast to San Pedro, and then it’s time for bed.
• Pass out, rinse, and do it all over again the next day!
