Funtasea boat ride

My mom is coming in under a week and I couldn’t think of a better way to prepare than going out for a Saturday afternoon boat ride – too sunny to stay inside and clean house. Lara picked me up and we headed to Fido’s dock. There was a whole crew of us going out and we were all psyched for our upcoming adventure.

We checked in and got our life vests and headed to the beach for the debriefing on hand signals – our route – directions on taking boats out and bringing them in again and making sure everyone was comfortable. The tide was low so our guides pulled the boats out to deeper water so we could have a safe start up – same for when we came in.

Soon we were of like a herd of turtles on red bull – heading south down the island. They picked south not only cause the mangrove channels are very cool but because overall there are less people – boats and coral to run into – much safer route.

Once we were far enough south the guides slowly led us through a larger mangrove channel then a smaller one. Mangroves are so much fun to glide through – you can always count on seeing some interesting wildlife.

After coming out of the second channel – we headed back up the island again.

While on boat all you need is a bottle of water – sunscreen and waterproof camera – everything else we left at the desk.
