Rainy Weather Pictures

I finally got around to organizing all my party supplies and decorations this afternoon. My main motivation was my cousin Erin and her Fiance Rudy are coming down in January to tie the knot at Caribbean Villas Resort on the beach. I am excited as that is a great spot to get married.

Aside from organizing I was also surfing the net and I found 3 interesting travel related pos recently on other blogs and a news site that I thought worth sharing. First one is from Belize.com Blog – European Airlines Bypassing U.S.A. To Reach Central America. The second one Western Belize Happenings – SPAIN and English tourists now have almost direct flights to Belize in Central America. Last but not least is a great piece on Travel Belize In 5  on FoxNews.com by Joshua Berman including a video hosted by Diane Macedo. Joshua writes about how planning a trip to Belize is easy and lists 5 great things to do while here – climbing a castle at Xunantunich archeological site – escaping to the islands – going caving with a crystal maiden where you will see will see 1,000-year-old skeletons and pottery shards left behind by the Maya – traveling the chocolate trail with a trip that begins in Punta Gourda at Cotton Tree and  a waterfall picnic in Mountain Pine Ridge at Thousand Foot Falls (actually 1,600 feet high)

Today I am posting pictures I shot around town to show you just how much water we have as a result of the last weeks few days of rain on Ambergris Caye. The weather right now is hot and sunny though we did have some short showers this morning.

My cousin used to work at a golf course so I can relate to that she always visits around Jan/Feb. Turkey fry sounds like a but to much work ha ha. I bet Roblio is a turkey fry guy – his catering company offered that on their thanks giving menu.

Mirimichi is very busy in the spring, summer and fall. Vacations for me need to be in the late fall or early winter. I hope to be able to get back next year some time.

All you have to do to fry a turkey is have a pot big enough, propane to heat the oil and a thermometer to guage the temp. After the bird is in the hot oil, all you have to do is drink a beer and pull it out when it’s done. Every good ole boy in the South fries turkeys. It is a rite of passage for young men to help their daddies at the fry rig! Have a great Thanksgiving in paradise.

I am sure some Canadians celebrate our thanks giving here. We tend to celebrate the American one because Tim and Tina always throw the best thanksgiving potluck party. [never cooked a turkey on my 43 years – sad but true ha ha] When are you thinking to come back Laura?

Raining here, too. We are frying turkeys for Thanksgiving. Hope you have a great one. Do ex-pat Canadians do Thanksgiving???

Still trying to figure out a way to get there permanently and planning the next trip.
