The Beach Basket is Now Open! (And They Have Bacon!)

If you are living in Belize and shopping on Ambergris Caye, it can sometimes be difficult to find everything you want. For those staying north of the bridge, it has always been even more so. Now, shopping up north has gotten easier and plentiful. The Beach Basket at Grand Caribe Resort has your needs covered and at a reasonable price – considering everything costs more to get to an island and across a toll bridge.

While I have stopped there when it was first opened, on the way to Playa Secreto I never went in. I was designated cart watcher for our picnic stuff while of the crew stocked us up on munchies and beverages.

The Beach Basket is Now Open! (and they have bacon!)

Living north of the bridge we are always excited when new businesses open. Sure we love all the new bars and restaurant choices we now have up here, but the thing we are the most excited about having is the new Beach Basket grocery store.

That’s right, you read correctly. There is a brand new, fully stocked grocery store north of the bridge!

Where do you ask? The Beach Basket is located on the Grand Caribe property on the first floor of the building where Rain Restaurant is located (approximately 2 miles north of town).

Why are we so excited to have a grocery store? Because it’s not just your typical grocery store ¦..this store is jam-packed with all kinds of goodies ¦.. it’s super clean and the staff is always very friendly.

Craving some snacks? They’ve got you covered with chips, dips, nuts, cheese, and crackers ¦

Staying up north and need to stock up your condo with the “basics” they have coffee, eggs, and bacon, and everything you need to cook them.  That’s right “ BACON! And it is delicious ¦..and always in stock.

Do you love a great steak? Beach Basket carries a wide variety of Reinland Meats ¦you’ve got to try them! Best steaks on the island!

The Beach Basket has this great inventory system where they never seem to run out of the food you are craving ¦ like, say ice cream and frozen Sandbar pizza. And it’s not just any ice cream, it’s the most delicious ice cream that is flown in from  “The Ice Cream Shoppe” (formally Scoops) in Belize City.

You’ve gotta try it!

They have one of the best wine selections on the island as well as a “wall of liquor” to choose from ¦

And all of the juices and mixers you need to make that tropical drink ¦.

Of course, they also sell Belikin Beer by the bottle or by the case.

Celebrating something extra special? How about picking up a bottle (or two) of champagne?

Are you asking yourself, “Wow, this store looks great” “ but how are the prices?” That’s another one of the great things about it. Beach Basket’s prices are comparable to the prices in town. No more paying too high of prices just because a store is located north of the bridge.
