#TravelTuesday – Our trip down south for Chicken Fried Steak

The Polaris was looking like tropical Beverly Hillbilly's, filled with colorful coolers and bright plastic baskets. We had both wrapped up our morning work and it was time to make our way south.  I was planning to get to First Aid Training down south but Shirlee who was managing the First Aid Training at Black Orchid Restaurant texted me they were going to be wrapping it up at 3:30 so I would not have time ...

I have not had time to even look at my Playa del Carmen pictures since I dumped them all on my Mexico flash drive, but I promise I will get to blogging the trip and Taste of Playa 2012 soon. It's official Dick is leaving for Antarctica in 10 days so we have begun our joyrides in Darth Vader [aka Zac's cart] and plan to get as many in as possible before he leaves. Enjoying Warm Laundry and Pirate’s Treasure

It is very breezy in San Pedro today and I was sure glad to have laundry on my chore list, nothing better than playing with warm sheets on a cold day. My Helena Montana weatherman sent me the picture below to remind me that it is not really cold here and compared to what I see in his office view, that I have to agree. I will say it is cold enough for me to have broken out get my jeans out and be thinking of ...

Halloween has always topped my list for fun things to do in Belize, people go all out for costumes and we always have a great time. Last night we started  a bit late and got to Roadkill bar just in time to have a quick one and head to Pedro's for the pimp n ho party.  The bell got rung twice during the short time we were there and some people were feeling very merry from the jager shots by the time we heade ...

Weather folklore blue moon

For all you sky watchers, we are about to experience a Blue Moon tomorrow night.   The most common definition of a blue moon out there right now refers to it as the second full moon of a calendar month. I knew there had to be more behind it and Earth Sky science website provided me with the information below. The idea of a Blue Moon as the second full moon in a month stemmed from the March 1946 issue of Sky ...

Sea Spray

It is still dark outside, I can hear the wind and rain picking up. The latest tracking model shows us good by this afternoon. It already feels like we are in the clear as Ernesto was a very tame storm for us. Will be heading to what I assume will be the last Hurricane Ernesto meeting shortly and feeling very lucky I scored a ride as I am pretty sire cabs would be a slim to none option this morning with curf ...

Hurricane Ernesto makes landfall in Mexico, weakens to tropical storm

San Pedro is almost back to normal. Some businesses are still closed and I do not blame them for taking this golden opportunity to take some well deserved time off. It has been a cold wet day perfect for staying at home. Both tacoboy and I agreed if we did not have to go to work we could have easily slept in. Please keep in mind that my post below is late, I was blogging at 6:30 this morning from my phone w ...

Hurricane Ernesto

We have a NEMO meeting at 6:00am downtown which meant setting my alarm for 4:40 am - ugh. Managing to get a bit of work done and at least one iced coffee in me before I set out. I did not pre-order a cab so hoping I can find one or hitch a ride when I get to the main road. It is still pitch black out but I can hear the rain, wind and thunder picking up now. When I opened the door to let some fresh air in I ...
