My Plan is  to do more Mainland Belize travel so I have been researching and printing off a lot of town maps yesterday to help me decide where I want to go and what I want to see.  So far I have Punta Gourda – Orange Walk Town – Caye Caulker – Northern Belize – Dangriga – Corozal  and Toledo. I have yet to decide where to go first I am thinking I may do a random draw from hat next week and see where I land.

Anyone have any good maps to share or input on a specific Belize location they would like to see on tacogirl blog?

Belize is an amazing tourist destination to travel with family or friends to enjoy an amazing holiday in search of an adventure. Its stunning beaches attract thousands of tourists every year to enjoy sports such as diving.

There are a few places to buy black dirt and plants here Marilee. Last price I remember seeing was around $8 – $10 bzd a bag. There is a lot of sand here especially if you are living on the beach – not impossible to garden though.

Black dirt – who knew?? Most of my reading makes it sound like there’s only the one market garden and that almost all properties are sand. Something to look into when we’re there in October. Thanks for the info. Regardless of where you go, please take (and post) lots of pics.

Nothing really specific, Laurie. We’re trying to keep costs down, so looking for something coastal that we can also garden at (relocation – rent 1st, buy later). AC’s not really known for it’s soil, but we love the beach idea. Any other areas that combine beach with soil would be awesome. Just a note – the Corazal website (www.corozal.com) isn’t nearly as good as AC’s!
@Sharon – am planning on getting in touch with you (got the book!) – thought we’d wait until our first trip to see if Belize reality matches even a bit with our fantasy.

I too am planning a trip to Corozal. A lot of my clients want to relocate there, so it will be more of a fact-finding mission than a pleasure trip, but I’m sure I can squeeze in some of that in as well.

I also want to visit Orange Walk – – I wish they’d build a connector road from San Igancio to there, lol!!

I don’t have maps yet either – anxious to see what you find. Have fun!!
