Belize Red Cross

Would you know what to do if a co-worker suddenly suffers a heart attack, is choking or suddenly becomes unconscious? Do you really stop and think what help you can render? These are some of the questions that we ask ourselves, but still wait until it happens and then say, “If I only knew what to do”.

Now is your opportunity to do something about it. LEARN FIRST AID TODAY. You owe it to yourself, your customers and your staff to make a difference not only at your place business but in your everyday life.

Join the growing number of Belize businesses and individuals participating in the Belize Red Cross first aid program and help keep Belize Safe. We also have a sponsor program in place that helps people like community health workers across Ambergris Caye receive needed training.

The course is  BZE $50.00 per person, advance registration and payment required. Email info.brcsp@gmail.com to register or for more information.

Pay it forward – Join the Medical Safety sponsor division and help certify someone in first aid. It will be the best $50 BZD you ever spent aside from getting your staff or yourself certified of course so far 2 of the 4 post office boys have been sponsored as well as 2 community Health Workers from San Mateo and One staff from the American Crocodile Education Sanctuary. we have also identified DFC and San Juan Community Health workers that need sponsorship.

The Belize Red Cross first aid program has been very successful thanks to all the Belizean businesses who are sending their staff for certified first aid training to make Belize a Safer Place. In a commitment to make their businesses a safe, local businesses have been continuously sending a wide range of staff to get certified first aid training including: pilots, ramp guys, front desk , tour coordinators , security, maintenance, housekeeping, dining room, bar, kitchen, branch messenger, property manager,  reporters, emergency responders, MD, director, dive masters.

Our goal is to make Ambergris Caye and Belize safe and bring awareness to both tourists and locals of all the business that trained staff onsite, in case of an emergency. Website buttons and window stickers will be coming soon for all participating businesses to make them easily identifiable in case of an emergency.

After the San Pedro launch of the first aid program in November, 15 staff from Victoria House, The Phoenix Resort and South Ambergris Caye Neighborhood Watch went for additional training at Victoria House. They all got trained in using the Medtronic physio control Lifepak defibrillator, Lifepak 500. Bandage International is encouraging all businesses who join the medical safety program to invest in an AED or defibrillator for their business and have their staff trained how to use it.

San Pedro Belize Red Cross would like to thank all businesses who have hosted First Aid classes and those that signed up to hosting future classes. Fido’s, El Divino, Black Orchid Restaurant, Seascape Villas hosted by Las Terrazas and Exotic Caye.

The following businesses countrywide have joined the Belize Red Cross Medical Safety Program and are sending staff for ongoing certified first aid training. All these businesses will soon be receiving dated Belize Red Cross website buttons to help let locals and tourists know where the safe places in Belize are should anyone ever require help in an emergency situation.  (If I have missed your business by accident please let me know ans I will get you added to the list asap.)
