Went for a Joy Ride with Dick and Carole this aft. We were going to stop in and get the last  Rick’s prescriptions that needed filling but he called when we were on our way there and said he really wanted a nap right now and if I could wait to come by till later he would appreciate that. So we crossed that errand off and set out to do the ones on Dick and Carole’s list and I took advantage of driving around town to snap some pics for my stock file. When they were done errands they dropped me off at the pool for the 4th of July pool party. I hung out for a bit and decided to go when Paul turned up as I wanted to get in a visit with Rick and see some of Derricks last Jam party before he heads off to Berklee Summer camp.

Rick was in good spirits today and cracking jokes about how he has never been arrested on the 4th of July. He said that Fritz came by earlier to see him and Derrick was supposed to drop by later. Progress report for today – he is able to get out of bed on his own but still needs 2 people to get him back in. Soon as he is a bit more mobile I have promised to kick his butt to the pool and he is willing to come. Off to tackle box now for Vicky’s Birthday – pics from that will come in the morning.

I have to admit as I was about to leave for Vicky’s birthday party I was a bit jealous of Paul watching Star Wars on the couch and wanted to be there too but I had promised Mario I would go.  Dick Carole and I  got there a bit late which turned out  to be a good thing as Vicky and Mario arrived not long after. The Tackle Box was packed for Karaoke night with DJ Debbie who had everyone singing and dancing. Ovi was doing free rum shots – I am officially casting my vote for Ovi as the best shots maker – they go down so smooth. Last night they were fruity tasting and so good I drank 3 of them. Anyone who knows me well knows I rarely do shots – can think of maybe twice if that in the 4 years we have been living here that is until I met Ovi and sampled his delicious creations.

As we were getting ready to leave we got to see Sam put on a special birthday show for his mom. One of the guys was teaching him to break dance out on the deck and doing a fabulous job. He was able to help Sam do flips and showing him some super cool moves.

I should have been resting this morning before going to the doctor but for crying out loud I just woke up 2 hours ago. All I did was my morning routine of answering emails having my iced coffee, chatting a bit on the coconut phone to Beth and Islenutt as well as catching up on Mexico blogs.

I wanted to keep reading but I can feel my energy dropping so I quickly washed up and got dressed to go to the doctor before I find myself horizontal.

Doctor said I sound better today but still have to come back tomorrow. While walking home down the back road by the airstrip I felt like I just wanted to keep walking, of course I knew I needed to just come home so I walked slowly enjoyed the sun on my back and here I am.

Today is the big day of the crawl. The 2 Pauls will be in charge. I am just getting the wristbands name tags and whistles ready for my Paul. He opted not to bring the cowbell today, which is fine bye me – one less thing for him to keep track of. Glad Paul H said he would come and keep my Paul company.

Paul said yesterday that I can put on my Gilligan costume and come around the corner to Lime long enough to say hi and meet everyone then I have to come right back home.

Lime was a great first stop. They were very friendly and asked what we felt like listening to – everyone agreed Bob Marley was a fine choice. They put out chips and salsa for us and did 3 prize drawings.

The gang went on to Road Kill for happy hour and I went the other way back to the tacoshack.

After coming home to rest for an hour, I went to bring the best costume prize to Hideaway bar. Was speeding past roadkill in a cab and saw Paul finishing up a group shot and wrangling everyone to the next stop. Cheri and Molly were there when I arrived, the rest of the gang turned up not long after and Cindy was soon to follow after she was done work.

Penny’s Hideaway is a great spot – a bit off the beaten path but well worth finding. Penny, Richard and his dad Bob were great hosts and made the party dressed up in wrongway Feldman and Ginger costumes. Gilligan won best costume prize – ice bucket full of beer. Thanks to Richard for filling the bucket with a nice selection of beer and ice. I can’t wait to have a pool party there one day soon.

Off to Casa Picasso unfortunately I did not get to go there and headed for home. Paul said they had a wonderful selection of appetizers for the gang. It looked like everyone was having a good time in the pictures.

When I got home I called Pedro’s to ask Andi-Lee to get Paul to do the t-shirt draw when they arrived, ok so I am a virgo in that respect ha ha, but crawls a lot of work and even Paul agreed that it definitely takes at least two people to manage one. He said that he almost lost a bunch on the way to Pedro’s so he sent Rudy off ahead and went onto do his wrangling duties. He managed to get everyone there – it’s times like that when the cow bell comes in handy.

8:21 pm – Who is wrangling the drunk wrangler ha ha. I think he is officially off duty other than a few pictures. I am making soup and watching Hell’s Kitchen.

I will have some good pics to post later. Ran into drummer Jim at perk today and out of the blue will be at Wet Willy’s when we go tonight – will be good to see/hear them play again.

One of the cool things about March crawl is that other than Ken and Mel we really did not know anyone before hand other than having talked on the message board. Was a great group of people and many of them went the distance. Had a big rainstorm and everyone just escaped getting soaked – Paul said they made it to the phoenix by the time it started coming down so not far from Wet Willy’s. I was lucky and Lara made a detour with me so I could close our windows – she dropped me off at home a sec went to run an errand and when she came back the wind and dust had kicked up like crazy, soon as she got in the door it started pouring like mad. Luckily it did not last too long.
