Anniversary Adventure in Belize

Tacoboy and I are taking a much needed Belize adventure to Ka’ana Resort and Spa celebrating 9 years together. My excitement is mounting and Paul just rang and said he dropped off our timeshare pets at the vet and will meet me at airport shortly. We were going to take a Tropic Air flight to Belmopan and go from there but plan B has come into action so we could get a bit more work done this morning – we decide to fly to Municipal and leave from there. MisterB266 (Belize bus) gave us great instructions on catching a cab from municipal airport to Central American Blvd and Cemetery road to get the bus. The cab cost $12 BZD and we had a nice driver. He told us that a bus would be coming soon and he was right. First bus that came was Benque – Matt the owner of Mr.Joe’s happened to be on the same bus so we chatted all the way to Belmopan. It was not long before we arrived at our stop for Ka’ana. There are several luxury Belize resorts near San Ignacio. Ka’ana is one of the few all-inclusive resorts in Belize – breakfast and dinner are included with our stay. We were met with a welcome drink of ginger and lime – delicious. The resort grounds very beautiful with winding pathways throughout. Our room has a nice king bed,  is very spacious and there are two a nice verandas with seating areas. We went for a tour of the wine cellar before dinner. We chose arugula with fried mozzarella and beef carpachio as our appetizers. For our main course Paul had the beef tenderloin and I went with the lamb shank. Everything was delicious but I am not surprised Ka’ana has 5 cooks on site and a 1 acre garden which 80 – 90% of their vegetables are picked fresh for daily meals. They also have many fruit bearing trees that are used when making drinks and desserts.

I forget the name of it Terry but the group of people playing were having a lot of fun playing it. Hopefully one of them will check this and leave a comment with the name.
